[ It does sound super great right now and there is a large part of Nanami that absolutely wants to do it. But he's trying to reconcile that with the part of him that's like no, absolutely not, be responsible, don't give in to your instincts.

But despite himself, his expression is soft and light and though he's not smiling outright, there's the hint of it on his face as he heads towards the crowd with Charlie. ]

That spot over there seems good.

[ Towards the edge of the crowd, giving a good view of where the lanterns being released. He'll lead them over there as the anticipation starts bubbling through the crowd, indicating the lanterns are going to be released soon. ]

[ It seems they're pretty much resolved to spend the rest of the evening in each other's company, so the opportunity for more kisses will come. For now, there are more once in a lifetime opportunities to focus on — such as the lanterns.

Charlie walks along with Nanami, silently pleased and a little touched that he managed to pick out a spot where he won't have to get onto his tiptoes to see anything. As they settle in to watch, Charlie steps in front of the other man, resting his back against Nanami's chest, guiding their joined hands so Nanami's arm circles his waist. He glances up at him. ]

This good?

[ ... Oh. This is nice. This is really nice. Nanami wasn't expecting to get into position like this but now that Charlie's shifted to be in it, Nanami is more than happy to hug him to his chest. He'll press a kiss to Charlie's forehead when he looks up at him before nuzzling his face into his hair softly. ]

It's perfect.

[ There is a high chance he'll be too distracted by the warmth in his arms to care much about the lanterns but. He's too happy to care about that either. ]

[ Hey, Charlie knows how to work his lack of height to his advantage. It’s remarkable how safe he feels, Nanami’s solid warmth at his back and his arms encircling him. He could take on the world from right here.

Though, he doesn’t want to. He wants to just stay here, with this beautiful, perfect man who is so soft with him, and maybe watch some lanterns. You know, provided he’s not distracted. That kiss and the tender way Nanami nuzzles into his hair are not making it easy to concentrate.

Charlie heaves a sigh, warm and content, and settles his weight back against Nanami, who is definitely more than sturdy enough to take it. God, he wants to kiss him again so badly. To kiss him and kiss him and never stop, to slide his fingers in his hair and feel the heat of their bodies mingling and—

Oh, he did get distracted. Before he realizes it, the sky is alight with dozens and dozens of lanterns slowly rising toward the stars. The sight arrests him for a moment, and he goes still, eyes cast upward. He’s forgotten they’re technically still inside the hotel, even. ]

Oh… it’s gorgeous.

[ It is a gorgeous sight and Nanami does watch it for a moment as the lanterns slowly move through the air. It's wonderful, and makes him happy to be at the hotel, to be alive again, but what's more mesmerizing for Nanami is the sight of the man in his arms. His eyes flit back downwards to watch Charlie's face as he takes in the lanterns, the awe on it and the delight and his heart squeezes a little in happiness. How can he feel so much for a man he just met? Yet, here he is, feeling happiness in their new bond together. In what this means. In how it feels.

So his voice is soft, tender, as he replies with — ]

Yeah, it is.

[ Even as his eyes still remain on Charlie as he says that. ]

[ There's only one thing that could have possibly torn Charlie's gaze away from the sky, and that's the tone of the voice of the man behind him. Nanami sounds so unbearably sweet that Charlie can't help but turn his gaze from the lantern back up to.

Oh.

Oh.

Nanami is looking at him like he's the only thing in the world, and Charlie feels so light he might rise into the stars right along with all the lanterns. ]

You...

[ Breathe. He forgot to for a second. ]

You wanna get out of here?

[ The way he wants to CLIMB THIS MAN LIKE A TREE. ]

[ It wasn't Nanami's intention to pull Charlie away from the lanterns, to ruin the moment for him or to distract him in any way. But he just felt so fond and warm and delighted by the man in his arms that he couldn't pull his eyes away from him.

And now Charlie is looking at him like that and, well. Yeah. He's not going to say no to that at all. It takes everything in him not to kiss him again right now. ]

Yes. Wherever you want to go, I'll follow.

[ If it's a quiet corner somewhere on this floor. If it's another floor. If it's Charlie's room, he doesn't care. He'll go anywhere with him. ]

[ There’s a brief moment of… not hesitation, but contemplation, where the gears in Charlie’s head are clearly turning, trying to sort out what the most appropriate course of action is in this scenario. This is kind of a new one for him, to be enamored so quickly and so thoroughly that it feels like they’re days, weeks, into this relationship when it’s only been hours.

Finally, he seems to decide that if they’re both really on the same page here, both of them falling hard, and so, so fast, then there’s no harm in venturing— ]

My place?

[ Nanami isn't oblivious to the implications there of going to Charlie's room. He's not a stranger to one night stands, even if that's not exactly what he wants with Charlie. But the attraction is there and potent and he doesn't want to... not be with Charlie. Even the thought alone is enough to make arousal twist in his gut and he nods in agreement to Charlie's suggestion. ]

Sounds perfect.

[ He'll just make it very clear, either when they get there or... the next morning, that he's interested in Charlie for more than just his body. He wants to date. He wants to be official. He wants all of Charlie. ]

[animated]

[ There’s a difference between a one-night stand and whatever this is turning into. A connection that is instant and electric, yes, but not so fleeting as to flash and go dark. Whatever happens when they get back to Charlie’s place is only the beginning, and that in itself is thrilling. ]

Great.

[ Charlie beams, slipping out of Nanami’s arms to catch him by the hand and start heading for the elevator.

And once they’re there, and the doors are sliding shut behind them, and they are well and truly alone, Charlie surges up for another kiss, a little more insistent. A little more heated. Like he can’t leave this man alone for a second. ]

[ Nanami isn't expecting Charlie to be on him when the elevator doors close, though he's more than thrilled to be on the receiving end of this when they get there. It's electrifying, this chemistry between them and he feels so drawn to the other man that it's hard to pull away. So, he doesn't.

Instead, he squeezes their entwined hands together and uses his other to curl against Charlie's cheek as he kisses him back, equally insistent as Charlie is. He breathes out against him and gives a soft, pleased noise as he opens his mouth to let Charlie in and deepens the kiss even more. Tongues sliding against each other, hot breath exchanged, they're very lucky that no one interrupts them in the elevator right now because they are definitely making out. And Nanami has no issues whatsoever with this.

He's going to kiss him for as long as it takes to get to Charlie's floor, not breaking for even a moment and instead indulging as much as he wanted to earlier, finally. ]

[ Ohhh, this. He wanted this. To get all tangled up in this man to the point where he kisses him as easily as breathing, to feel the heat of his open mouth and the press of his body. If just being near Nanami feels electric, then this is a bolt of lightning, and Charlie loses track of time and space until the elevator dings at the fourth floor.

The wizard pulls away with no small amount of reluctance, but it does help to know that more is yet to come, and it’s sure to be good. ]

It’s not far.

[ Thankfully, though he’d be happy to just let this man shove him against a tree or a lamppost and do what he wanted. (Maybe some other time.) ]

Room four.

[ Nanami is absolutely hoping for more. To kiss Charlie as much as either of them want, to gather Charlie in his arms and hold him and feel the press of their bodies together. He knows it's close now and so he'll move with Charlie as the elevator opens up and they head out onto Charlie's floor.

... Which is admittedly, not the floor he expected. He looks a little surprised by it, not enough to distract him from walking but he's definitely taking a look around. ]

This is the floor you live on?

[ A pause and then, quietly — ]

... It's one of my favorite floors in the entire hotel.

[animated]

[ He gives Nanami a sideways glance at that pause, unsure of just what sort of assessment is coming now that they’re here.

Not what he expected. That tugs a laugh out of him, bright and genuine in its surprise. ]

Guess it was meant to be, huh?
